MOSCOW, February 7 - RIA Novosti. The abolition of the general mask regime in Russia may occur at the end of the spring of this year. This opinion was expressed by the scientists interviewed by RBC.
Zoya Skorpileva, candidate of medical sciences, immunologist at the European Vaccination Center, recalled that this decision requires compliance with a number of factors, including herd immunity and vaccination.
Allergist-immunologist Vladimir Bolibok did not rule out that the cancellation of the mask regime could happen in April. The expert also noted that the condition for the abolition of masks is the indicator of the development of herd immunity.
Earlier, professor of the Gamaleya Center Anatoly Altstein said that in case of mass vaccination, it would be possible to waive the restrictions by the end of the year.
"I think we will get a significant reduction in the epidemic in the spring, by the summer, but it will not come to zero soon," the virologist also predicted.
After the outbreak of the pandemic in the Russian regions, along with the self-isolation regime, an additional "mask regime" was introduced - appearing in public places is possible only with respiratory protection and gloves.
