Money will not save you from health problems - a well-known fact. And publicity does not promote intimacy. It is better to openly tell than to hide and deny anything. Recently, more and more celebrities talk about health problems, including mental ones. Increasingly, stars are openly talking about such a diagnosis as bipolar disorder.
What causes bipolar disorder?
There are many stars in Hollywood who live with a bipolar woman. Many did not immediately dare to talk about the disease, but after a while they stated that this made their life much easier. In addition, bipolar disorder, although it almost always requires lifelong medication and observation, does not lead to personality deformation. According to experts, the disease is hereditary in nature, but has no predetermination. And about 7% of patients have no inherited inheritance. Consequently, the disease is formed due to a combination of hereditary and environmental factors, with a greater role of genetic ones. People with bipolar disorder live like on a swing (to put it simply): from feelings of hopelessness and despair, loss of energy and inability to get out of bed to pronounced emotional ups, accompanied by bursts of productivity. Mood swings are possible even during the day, and, more often, the condition worsens in the morning.

Yulia Akhmedova
Not so long ago, this diagnosis was discussed in the light of a frank interview with Yulia Akhmedova - she told Irina Shikhman how she lives with bipolar disorder. The participant of the Stand Up show was treated in a hospital and has been taking antidepressants under the supervision of a doctor for more than one year. She was not immediately diagnosed - bipolar disorder can be easily confused with depression. At the moments when the emotional "swing" went down, Julia could not, according to her, brush her teeth in the morning - she had no strength, and during the night she got up twenty times to check if the front door was closed. Accepting her illness, Akhmetova felt relief, because now she understands what is happening to her. She thanks in every way her friends who have supported her all this time. Later, Julia found out that friends even created a chat where they discussed who would go next to visit and support the girl. Akhmedova talks about her depression from the stage, and also emphasizes: depressive disorders are not treated with shopping or friendly gatherings. But the word depression has become terribly blurred in our country - many people still do not understand that this is a serious illness.
Alesya Kafelnikova
Model Alesya Kafelnikova made the diagnosis on her own, in any case, she herself wrote about it on Instagram. “Having analyzed today all my correspondence, emotional leaps, the smilies used on the phone, I can firmly declare that I have bipolar disorder,” the girl wrote. The daughter of a famous tennis player had problems with alcohol and not only, bulimia, a bad relationship with her father - a whole bouquet that could provoke the appearance of a BAR, her fans argue. However, experts say that in most cases, bipolar disorder is hereditary. And frequent mood swings (from sadness to joy) are not bipolar disorder. Also, do not confuse this disease with multiple personality disorder. People with bipolar disorder experience states ranging from super euphoria to depression.
Rap artist Guf
Rap singer Guf talked about the "bipolar" in an interview with Ksenia Sobchak. According to the artist, he was in a psychiatric hospital 8 times. Alexey does not alleviate his condition, but only aggravates with alcohol and not only. However, everyone makes their own choice: to stabilize their condition, accept the disease and learn to live with it, or literally test themselves for strength.
Hollywood stars
There are many more artists in Hollywood who talk publicly about living with bipolar disorder. More recently, during the spring quarantine, Selena Gomez spoke about her diagnosis. She was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Before that, the girl thought she was suffering from increased anxiety and panic attacks. In addition, she had to undergo a kidney transplant operation. Having learned about the diagnosis, the singer, according to her, became easier. She realized that the necessary drugs and therapy sessions would make her life easier.
Drew Barrymore has lived with BAR for over thirty years - she was diagnosed at fourteen. The actress tells her “colleagues”: “You will never be cured. You will simply learn how to deal with the problems that exacerbate your disease. " Kanye West not so long ago found out about the diagnosis, but already considers BAR to be his "superpower". Mariah Carey also calmed down internally - she was diagnosed with the disease in 2001, although before that she had sinned on her difficult character. It turned out that it was all about mental illness. What should people do who understand that something is happening to their psyche? And what should your loved ones do, looking at a suffering person?

Expert commentary: is bipolar disorder treated?
The course of the disease can be very different, that is, the phases (from mania, euphoria to depression) can pass one into another directly or through a period of intermission. The duration of the phases can vary from a few hours to several years. It is clear that the severity of affective disorders has a significant range: from erased forms, in which the patient can continue to lead his usual way of life, to forms with inappropriate behavior requiring isolation.
Patients come to a psychiatrist in different ways: the depressive more often come on their own, although sometimes they are brought in by relatives, and patients with the first hypo- or manic episode are more often brought in by others. BAR is treated quite successfully. Medicines are taken for a long time, almost for life. The decision to reduce the doses of drugs or cancel them with prolonged intermission is made only by a specialist who has access to the patient's medical records and who monitors him for a long time.
Patients' relatives undergo psychoeducational trainings. Their role is to support medication intake, stimulate seeking correction when the "first signs" appear: changes in activity, sleep duration / appetite level, speech speed, as well as helping to maintain a stable daily routine by the patient.
