Walking barefoot on a hard floor can cause unbearable foot pain and illness that will require surgery. Honored Doctor of Russia, chiropractor and reflexologist Andrei Kabychkin spoke in more detail about this.
He clarified on Sputnik radio that the constant load on the heel can lead to the formation of a build-up. It is known as a heel spur. Doctors call this disease plantar faisciitis, it is caused by inflammatory-degenerative changes in the plantar (plantar) fascia. In some cases, surgery is required during treatment.
Properly selected home shoes will help to avoid unpleasant consequences. If there is laminate, linoleum or tiles on the floor, the doctor recommended choosing slippers with thin soles. However, they are not suitable for diabetics, reports MK Crimea. A natural wood floor is safer, but it is still best not to walk on it with bare feet.
Kabychkin also gave separate tips for women who often wear high-heeled shoes outside the home. In particular, the doctor encouraged them to choose shoes with a slight instep. He added that they should not be worn for more than three hours a day. Otherwise, it will lead to various diseases of the feet.
Earlier, "Profile" reported that scientists have found a possible cause of frequent foot disease. As found in a joint study, Harvard University professor Daniel Lieberman, professor at the Chemnitz University of Technology in Germany Friedrich Sichting and their colleagues, one of the possible reasons for the spread of this disease was the love of comfortable shoes.
