The Russians were told the amount of sleep required in self-isolation: Physician-therapist, gastroenterologist, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor of the department of polyclinic therapy of the medical faculty of the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education named after N. I. Pirogova Elena Vartanyan recalled that you should sleep at least eight hours a day. Her words are quoted by Komsomolskaya Pravda.
The doctor noted that you need to sleep the allotted time so as not to harm your health. She also gave some more tips on keeping the daily routine at home.
“To maintain immunity, eat well, and healthy food, quit smoking and drinking alcohol, take good care of your psyche. Healthy sleep helps the immune system a lot (at least eight hours a day),”the specialist advised.
Vartyanian also gave recommendations on how to avoid cardiovascular diseases, given the sedentary lifestyle in the current situation. “To avoid exacerbation and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, do not forget to regularly take medications prescribed by your doctor, control your blood pressure. Reduce your intake of salt and saturated fat,”the doctor concluded.
Earlier in May, Vera Sharoshkina, a nutritionist at the polyclinic number 1 of the presidential administration, recalled that good sleep helps to strengthen a person's immunity.
