Experts from Roskachestvo have evaluated the ketchup brands in Russia. According to the agency's website, seven brands were submitted for the test. The study involved "Baltimore", "Sloboda", "What you need!", "Red price", "Maheev", "365 days" and Heinz. The specialists had to assess whether they comply with the norms of the legislation, as well as whether there are potentially harmful substances in the composition. It turned out that all ketchups meet the mandatory requirements, and Sloboda and Heinz also meet the advanced requirements of Roskachestvo, since they did not use artificial preservatives, sweeteners and starch in production. It is noteworthy that none of the ketchups of the tested brands met the leading Roskachestvo standard in appearance. The product contains tomato seeds, while the standard assumes the production of a dense uniform mass without seeds, peel particles and coarse parts of the fruit. As nutritionist Natalya Kruglova said, tomatoes can be harmful to certain categories of citizens. According to her, the fruits are not suitable for people with gastritis and peptic ulcer diseases. In addition, the presence of allergies is a risk factor.
