MOSCOW, March 4. / TASS /. Studies in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation indicate that in most of them the immunity of persons who have undergone coronavirus infection lasts for five months and is at a high level. This was announced on Thursday by the Deputy Head of the Epidemiological Surveillance Department of Rospotrebnadzor Albina Melnikova at the scientific and practical conference "Features of immunization of infectious diseases during the COVID-19 pandemic."

"On the basis of the Pasteur Institute, they are carrying out another scientific project, it has already been actually implemented, which determines the level and duration of immunity in persons who have undergone coronavirus infection. The conclusions of this project are that in most subjects with good diagnostics, the proportion of persons with antibodies remains at a high level within five months after recovery. Moreover, the proportion of seropositive (carriers of the infection who do not show symptoms - approx. TASS) is at a high level regardless of the clinical forms of covid, including asymptomatic, "- she said.

The longitudinal cohort study of individual age and social groups, which Rospotrebnadzor has been conducting since June 2020 according to a project recommended by WHO, believes the representative of Rospotrebnadzor, will provide data not only on the population, but also on the post-vaccination level of immunity. According to Melnikova, the project has now reached the fourth stage.

The largest proportion of seropositive, she added, is observed among the medical staff. "This, of course, is due to the duration of work with this infection - the largest proportion of seropositive in medical workers. And it is, for different subjects, from 56%, which, of course, in the project, to 99% of seropositive doctors," Melnikova added.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 115.2 million people have been infected with the coronavirus in the world, over 2.5 million have died. In Russia, according to the federal operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus, 4,290,135 cases of infection were registered, 3,869,857 people recovered, 87,823 died. The Russian government launched the stopcoronavirus.ru resource to inform about the situation in the country.
