Metropolitan doctors will conduct research to study the possibility of plasma donation for those vaccinated against coronavirus. Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor for Social Development, stated this on the mos.ru official portal of the Moscow government.

Moscow donors who have had coronavirus are constantly donating plasma with a high level of antibodies. Plasma transfusion helps critically ill patients fight off infection. Now doctors will study whether it is possible to use plasma with antibodies to COVID-19, which they received from donors who have been vaccinated. …
“Given the fact that the use of the Sputnik V vaccine produces a high titer of neutralizing antibodies in humans, there is a possibility that in the future those who have been vaccinated will become donors. To test this hypothesis, we are starting a large-scale study in our hospitals where assistance to patients with coronavirus infection, said Anastasia Rakova.
If research proves the hypothesis, vaccinated volunteers will be invited to donate.
