One of the creators of the Novichok nerve system, Leonid Rink, announced the release of a cure for the coronavirus. He told RIA Novosti about this.
In the near future, he will present the antiviral and immunomodulatory agent Immofon, capable of fighting a number of viral diseases, including COVID-19. "It perfectly restores cells after the immune system, that is, eliminates the cytokine storm, which, according to many experts, is one of the causes of death from COVID-19," Rink explained.
According to him, the drug is an updated version of Diucifon synthesized in the USSR, which was used to treat leprosy. Until the 2000s, the drug was included in the list of vital drugs. The new tool eliminated the main drawback of the Soviet development - poor dissolution in water and, accordingly, in blood plasma. Inside the drug are combined a strong foreign antiviral agent "Dapsone" and two molecules of methyluracil, which activate metabolism in tissues and stimulate the regeneration process, the scientist noted.
Also, the tool can be used to treat lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, allergies and leukemia, lung diseases. One dose of the drug will cost approximately one thousand rubles.
Currently, the drug has been tested on 700 elderly volunteer patients. According to the results of the study, not a single severe stage of the disease and not a single death after infection were recorded.
Rink proposed to fight coronavirus infection with Diucifon in April 2020. He noted that the drug coped well with immune disorders and the most severe pulmonary pathologies. The developer of the substance called for the activation of the process of improving the drug.
