People who have had a coronavirus infection should be wary of even a slight hangover, said psychiatrist Igor Lazarev. This is reported by News.ru. According to him, COVID-19 promotes thrombus formation - this is the formation of blood clots inside the vessels. A hangover, as the doctor noted, triggers a similar pathological process. As a result, the likelihood of a thrombus breaking off increases. "Wandering through the bloodstream, it can get into the heart or block the lumen of a vessel of a vital organ," Lazarev said. He added that this could result in disability or even death. As psychiatrist-narcologist Aleksey Magalif explained, a hangover can exacerbate chronic diseases and, first of all, the digestive and cardiovascular systems are under attack. Experts emphasize that alcohol increases blood pressure and speeds up the heart rate, so the heart is at risk of a hypertensive crisis. Also, against the background of a hangover, diseases of the nervous system can be aggravated. Earlier, the chief freelance psychiatrist-narcologist of the Ministry of Health Yevgeny Brun told what to do the next day after drinking alcohol in order to improve his condition. According to the specialist, feeling unwell after drinking alcohol is the remnants of intoxication of the body. In this state, you need to lie down, sleep and spare yourself, the expert recommended. Also, doctors recommend refraining from mixing various alcoholic beverages. It was reported that this primarily concerns grape and grain alcohol.
