"Vaccination of teachers began Yesterday, along with doctors, the first 120 teachers in St. Petersburg were vaccinated against coronavirus. Each teacher was carefully examined by a doctor before vaccination - several people were forced to postpone vaccination for a little later. Someone has a runny nose, someone with high blood pressure ", - wrote Potekhina, adding that after 21 days, those who have been vaccinated will need to come to the second stage and make another injection.
According to Potekhina, the epidemiological situation remains difficult, the number of sick children and teachers has not decreased for the third week. The city's schools continue to work in the usual full-time format, the winter holidays will begin and end as planned, the vice-governor said.
On Friday, six vaccination points began work in St. Petersburg, on Saturday their number increased to 11, Potekhina said. More than 70 points will open by the end of the year, and each of them will be able to receive 40-50 people per day.
“I was lucky: among other pioneers, I was allowed to be vaccinated,” the vice-governor also wrote. “In the evening after vaccination, my condition was decent, although I felt a little discomfort, as happens when I caught a cold, but did not get sick. no trace."
According to the interdepartmental city coordinating council for countering the spread of the new coronavirus infection in St. Petersburg, on December 18, 137 people were vaccinated from COVID-19.
Increase in incidence among children The council also notes that over the past two weeks, the city has seen an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 among children.
"The increase in the incidence of COVID-19 may be due to the consequence of several cultural events held at the end of November. The increased incidence among children plays a certain role. It peaked in late November - early December. At the same time, the largest number of classes was recorded, which, according to the decision school principals have been transferred to distance learning to separate children's groups. In families, the infection is transmitted from children to adults, which leads to an increase in the incidence among adults, "the council's statement says.
Vaccination of teachers in two stages
Earlier it was reported that teachers in St. Petersburg will be vaccinated against coronavirus in two stages - first of all, they will vaccinate school teachers of grades 5-11 and teachers of the vocational education system, as well as executives of educational institutions. In total, this is 37 thousand people. At the second stage, primary school teachers, employees of preschool educational institutions and children's health camps will be able to get vaccinated.
According to the latest data, St. Petersburg received 5,500 doses of Sputnik V vaccine, as well as almost 1,000 doses of Epivakkorone. The health committee reported that St. Petersburg expects another 100 thousand doses of coronavirus vaccine by the end of the year. Larger deliveries are expected in January - up to half a million doses.
