A health worker from Alaska developed a serious allergic reaction after being vaccinated against the coronavirus with Pfizer Inc and BioNTech, and the situation is now stable, health officials said Wednesday. An adverse reaction in a person minutes after Pfizer's injection on Tuesday was similar to the two reported last week in the UK. The British medical regulator has said that anyone who has a history of anaphylaxis or a serious allergic reaction to a drug or food should not receive the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. The FDA has said most allergic Americans should be safe while receiving the vaccine. It said that only people who have previously had severe allergic reactions to vaccines or ingredients of that particular vaccine should avoid getting vaccinated.
