Social activity, which will increase with the onset of spring and better weather, may affect the increase in the number of cases of coronavirus, but this will only be associated with the fact that people have become more in contact and walk. The virologist of the N.F. Gamalei of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Professor Alexander Butenko.

The expert noted that the seasonal factor does not affect the dynamics of the epidemic process. India and Brazil are two striking examples of this. "The virus is transmitted directly from an infected person to a healthy person through close contact, talking, sneezing, coughing, so this is an all-season disease, I think so," Butenko explained on Sputnik radio.

At the same time, the specialist recalled the need to adhere to sanitary protection measures - do not forget about the masks. The reduction in the number of cases of coronavirus in the country is not a reason to ignore these rules, the virologist emphasized. Developing protection, both after infection and after vaccination, will help keep the spread of the disease. The number of people with immunity should reach 60-70% in each of the regions.

Earlier it was reported about the completion of tests of the effectiveness of domestic vaccines against the "British" strain of coronavirus. Both "Sputnik V" of the Gamaleya center and "EpiVacCorona" of the "Vector" scientific center are equally good at protecting against a new type of coronavirus. The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova told about this. According to her, the study was carried out for those who had been ill. Their natural immunity can withstand the British strain. There are no samples of the "South African" and "Brazilian" strains of coronavirus in Russia yet.
