BUENOS AIRES, 28 February. / TASS /. Uruguayan health workers on Saturday began to vaccinate against the coronavirus with the vaccine of the Chinese company Sinovac Biotech. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of the Republic on Twitter.

"Today, the process of vaccination against COVID-19 has begun throughout the country. The first Sinovac vaccine was given to those who are part of the vaccination teams," the report said.

The start of mass vaccination is scheduled for March 1. At the first stage, education workers, police officers, firefighters, military and border guards will be vaccinated. The main part of medical workers and the elderly will begin to vaccinate after Uruguay receives vaccines by the American company Pfizer, the proven effectiveness of which is higher than that of the Chinese drug.
