The composition of Sputnik V for vaccination of children against coronavirus will not change, but the dosage will differ. This was announced by the director of the Gamaleya Center Alexander Gintsburg in an interview with the TV channel "Russia 24".
“Depending on the age group, the dosage will obviously be different: the smaller the age group, the lower the dosage of the drug. Will there be any other changes to the composition of the vaccine? I don’t have to. Except that, perhaps, by this time, research will be carried out in terms of the nasal form of this vaccine, and it is possible that then the nasal form of this vaccine will also be primarily recommended for children. But the composition of the vaccine will remain exactly the same,”he said.
According to Gunzburg, when the Gamaleya Center receives the appropriate permission, the children will be divided into age groups for clinical trials. “Let's say 17-14 years old, 14-9 years old and nine or less, and maybe even four age groups,” he said.
