“The telemedicine center was created as soon as possible in the spring on the basis of a single digital platform for Moscow healthcare. Today, on average, physicians conduct about 5 thousand remote consultations every day. If symptoms are detected in a sick person, specialists make a decision about an internal examination or hospitalization. Telemedicine made it possible to solve two key tasks: to ensure constant monitoring of the patient's condition, as well as to remove part of the work from the outpatient level and prevent overloading the system,”said the press service of the capital's social development complex, whose message is given in the material.

It is noted that doctors work around the clock and communicate with patients using video and audio communication. After examining and conducting the necessary research, ambulance doctors or polyclinics make a decision on hospitalization of the patient or the possibility of undergoing treatment at home. In the latter case, a patient with COVID-19 goes under the supervision of doctors at a telemedicine center and a polyclinic. If symptoms of deterioration in health are detected, the doctor decides to conduct an in-person examination of the patient at home or provide emergency medical care. In addition, the doctors of the center monitor the health of the townspeople who participate in the post-registration study of a vaccine against coronavirus infection.

It is specified that the telemedicine center began work in March 2020. Currently, there are about 200 medical specialists working here, who have received additional training to help patients with the new coronavirus infection.
