He noted that during a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov he had the opportunity "to congratulate the minister and Russia on this important technological achievement (the creation of a vaccine), which will contribute to the security and well-being of the world as a whole."

“And we will undoubtedly take advantage of the close relationship that binds us to gain access to the vaccine. We discussed the possibility of its joint production. Egypt has a strong private sector, manufacturing facilities and pharmaceuticals. These issues will continue to be discussed at the level of ministers of health and, of course, ministers of industry and trade,”Shukri said to TASS.

According to him, Cairo expects Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Egypt as soon as possible.

“We hope that His Excellency President Putin will visit Egypt again at the earliest opportunity,” he said, when asked if the Russian leader is planning a visit next year.

We will remind, on August 11, President Vladimir Putin announced the registration of the first vaccine against coronavirus in Russia. It received the name "Sputnik V" by analogy with the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite in 1957.

On September 9, as part of a post-registration study of a vaccine against coronavirus, vaccination of Muscovites began.

The Russian vaccine is expected to enter civilian circulation on January 1, 2021. In total, Russia received applications for the purchase of 1 billion doses of vaccine from 27 countries.
