Experts recommended not watching the news, as they can provoke anxiety in a person and prevent a smooth transition to sleep. They also advised avoiding tense conversations. Research by scientists has shown that negative emotions from such conversations at night are more difficult to overcome.
Doctors do not recommend working in bed, so that "the bed is associated with the brain only with sleep and sex." Somnologists also advised not to exercise. Many people try to exhaust themselves in this way in order to sleep better, but the effect will be the opposite, experts are convinced.
It is also not recommended to consume stimulating drinks with caffeine and alcohol, which leads to disturbed sleep architecture.
Experts advise against using phones at night or leaving lights on, as they signal to the brain that it is time to be awake. Exposure to light also inhibits the production of melatonin in the brain, a hormone released in response to darkness and helping to sleep.
