TV doctor Yevgeny Komarovsky listed the main signs that make it possible to suspect the development of pneumonia. He named cough as the main one.
The situation when it is impossible to take a deep breath without causing a coughing fit also looks bad from the point of view of health. Komarovsky told about this in a post, which he posted on his Instagram page.
He also noted a pronounced pallor of the skin against the background of other symptoms of acute respiratory viral infections and shortness of breath at a low body temperature. Any "cold illness" that lasts more than seven days may indicate the development of pneumonia. Another symptom is a situation where paracetamol or ibuprofen does not help at high temperatures.
Knowledge of these signs is necessary in order not to delay seeking medical help, the specialist emphasized.
Earlier NEWS.ru reported that more than 95% of deaths of community-acquired pneumonia occur in young children. This was announced by Alexander Gorelov, Deputy Head for Scientific Work of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He stressed that according to the WHO, pneumonia killed about one million children in 2019.
