Russian physician and gastroenterologist Nikita Kharlov in an interview with Sputnik radio revealed a way to boost immunity in cold weather.

The specialist noted that in the cold season it is necessary to consume more animal fats. "They will build the mucous membrane, which is the gateway for various viruses," he explained.

According to him, you can use goose, beef, pork fat, you can even bear and beaver. "Whichever you find, that and use," - he concluded.

At the same time, Kharlov explained that not all fats are equally useful for the body. The safest and healthiest are animal fats. “Omega-3 fats are in second place in terms of safety. This is the same fish oil and cod liver oil,”the doctor said. He added vegetable fats in third place and trans fats in fourth.

However, even with the most useful and safe fats, the rate should be observed, the gastroenterologist warned. “Carbohydrates and fats are in such a ratio that if you raise fats, then you have to lower carbohydrates and vice versa,” he added.

Earlier, the chief physician of the capital's hospital 71 and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov called ways to strengthen the immune system. The doctor clarified that only a person who leads a healthy lifestyle can have "good immunity". Among the factors that negatively affect the immune system, Myasnikov listed alcohol abuse, lack of sleep, chronic infections, stress, poor diet and smoking.
