Roskachestvo conducted a study (available at the disposal of Lenta.ru), according to the results of which it told the Russians about the deception used by bottled water producers.
More than 200 brands took part in the study, occupying in aggregate 68.6 percent of the domestic market for medicinal water and 84.6 percent of drinking bottled water. 125 brands have indicated on the packaging that the water is of natural origin. It is currently impossible to confirm this.
The authors note that producers of bottled water are increasingly taking advantage of the lack of a library in the country with data on the chemical and isotopic composition of water in natural sources and resorting to various marketing tricks.
For example, illustrations depicting natural objects, including mountains, are often placed on labels of tap water treated with chlorine. This is the approach used by 23 research participants. 13 companies used trademarks that directly indicate the natural origin of water, for example, a mountain spring or a clear lake.
In addition, the labels of 54 brands of medicinal and 22 brands of mineral water contain an indication of the mineralization group. At the same time, the products were made without taking into account the national standard, which means that such inscriptions cannot be used.
