The head of the Russian Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, visited the Hospital of War Veterans 3, checking the organization of vaccination against coronavirus in this medical institution.
The minister noted the good pace of vaccination and praised the hospital staff for caring for elderly patients.
“The Novosibirsk region looks positive, we see that vaccination is actively underway. It is very important that here, in this medical facility, which deals mainly with older people, an active invitation mechanism has been implemented. Right now we talked with several patients who were called by medical workers and invited to get vaccinated. It is very important for us to protect this particular category of people, because it is most susceptible to complications. This institution is implementing the program in full, "the Minister of Health of Russia emphasized.
Mikhail Murashko, answering the question about the timing of the onset of collective immunity, said that this, most likely, can be expected in the first half of this year. He became the third federal-level official after Vyacheslav Volodin and Tatyana Golikova, who promised immunity to Russians in the elections to the State Duma.
The chief physician of the hospital, Doctor of Medical Sciences Oksana Gerasimenko told the NDN.info correspondent that vaccinations at a medical facility can be done "day in and day out."
“You can make an appointment, for example, today and on the same day to have the first vaccination. You only need to have a passport, SNILS and insurance with you, and whether a person is attached to our hospital or not does not matter,”Gerasimenko said.
To date, according to the regional Ministry of Health, just over 63 thousand people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Novosibirsk.
