Cardiologist of the Consultative and Diagnostic Department of the Federal Center for Brain and Neurotechnologies of the FMBA of Russia, doctor of the highest category, Candidate of Medical Sciences Galina Lazarenko told what a "quiet" heart attack is, how to recognize and prevent it.
"Quiet" heart attacks are heart attacks that are either asymptomatic or have symptoms that at first glance are not associated with heart disease, "- explained the cardiologist in an interview with the site" Arguments and Facts ".
She noted such atypical symptoms of a heart attack as shortness of breath, a feeling of heaviness, burning, bouts of weakness, fatigue, irregular heartbeat.
Galina Lazarenko identified five measures that will reduce the risk of a "silent" heart attack: reducing excess body weight with the help of dosed physical activity and a low-calorie diet; inclusion in the diet of vegetables, whole grains, fish; to give up smoking; control of blood pressure and blood sugar. The main preventive measure is periodic examinations (at least once a year), which allow timely suspicion of coronary heart disease and prevent the development of myocardial infarction.
