MOSCOW, January 28 - RIA Novosti. Rospotrebnadzor has prepared dietary recommendations for people over 60 years old.
The elderly need to limit the calorie content of meals: first of all, it is advised to reduce the amount of animal fats, simple sugars and table salt. At the same time, it is important that the food is rich in amino acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids, vegetable fats and dietary fiber.
In addition, the need for micronutrients increases with age. The body should regularly receive antioxidant vitamins. Among the minerals, calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, zinc, chromium are distinguished, which provide regulation of bone metabolism, blood coagulation systems, water and electrolyte balance, functions of the central nervous system, carbohydrate and fat metabolism.
Experts recommend building a regimen based on four or five fractional meals a day without long breaks.
Diet changes will help reduce the likelihood of developing unpleasant and life-threatening diseases: diabetes mellitus, heart attack, stroke.
"Remember that life expectancy is influenced not only by dietary changes, but also by regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and disposable heredity. Eat right, live long and look young at any age," the message adds.
