Olga Tkacheva, the chief freelance geriatrician of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, gave advice, the implementation of which will help preserve youth. According to the conclusion of the specialist, proper nutrition and physical activity are the key to youth.
“The most important secret is movement,” said the physician during a press conference at the Rossiya Segodnya MIA.
She explained that working muscles retain their mass and strength. Otherwise, their atrophy occurs, which leads to decrepitude and aging.
The movement is also indicated for diseases of the heart and joints. According to the physician, a healthy person should do some kind of aerobic exercise every day for 40 minutes.
Nutrition also plays an important role in preserving youth, Tkacheva concludes. Older adults need to regularly consume protein, which is a building block for muscles. You should also drink at least 1.5-2 liters of water per day.
- It is necessary to limit easily digestible carbohydrates. This, by the way, is true for any age. Gerontologists generally do not eat anything sweet, because they know that sweet, easily digestible carbohydrates are the path to early aging, RIA Novosti quotes Tkacheva.
The specialist recommended to consume at least 400-600 grams of raw vegetables and fruits daily to prolong life.
