TV presenter and ex-wife of Andrei Arshavin, Yulia Baranovskaya, told how their eldest son Arseny, up to a certain point, was not at all interested in football. According to her, when they lived in London, where this sport was raised to the level of a cult, she had to stand next to the field and shout to her son that the ball should not be touched with her hands. This happened when little Arseny was invited to a children's birthday, which was partly in the format of a football game.
Arseniy recently became a graduate of the Spartak football academy. In one of the interviews, Arshavin was asked if his son could study at the Zenit Academy, to which he replied with a categorical “no”. He explained this by the fact that then Arseny would have to live with his father in St. Petersburg, and the "other side" would not have gone to it.
In her interview for Tele.pro, Baranovskaya stated that Andrei did not take part in the choice of the academy for his son. However, she turned to her ex-husband for advice on this matter.
“Do it yourself. I will not participate,”Yulia quoted her ex-husband as saying. She added that in the end, friends helped her with the choice.
