S.-PETERSBURG, February 3 - RIA Novosti. More than 700 liters of anticoid plasma for the treatment of patients with COVID-19 have been prepared at the city's blood transfusion stations, said Tatyana Zasukhina, chief physician of the St. Petersburg City Blood Transfusion Station.

"A total of 700 liters of anticoid plasma were prepared by the blood transfusion stations, of which 97% were prepared on the basis of the central city station," Tatiana Zasukhina told reporters.

Head of the Blood Service of the First Saint Petersburg State Medical University named after academician I.P. Pavlova Dmitry Pevtsov said that they had prepared 350 liters of antique plasma.

"Now we see an improvement in the situation with regard to coronavirus, there is a decrease in its consumption, but we are not stopping the procurement," Pevtsov said.

He noted that about a thousand doses of plasma were transfused at the clinic of the First Medical University.

"There is evidence that the plasma of those vaccinated against coronavirus also contains a large number of antibodies. We are starting to work on the issue of preparing plasma from their blood," added Pevtsov.

According to Zasukhina, now in St. Petersburg there is a sufficient supply of antique plasma - about 400 liters.

The latest data on the situation with COVID-19 in Russia and the world are presented on the stopcoronavirus.ru portal.
