The Commission for the Study of Postcoid Syndrome was created by the Russian Ministry of Health. This is reported by TASS, referring to an interview with the Moscow 24 TV channel of the chief freelance pulmonologist of the Ministry of Health in the Central Federal District, Secretary General of the Russian Scientific Medical Society of Physicians Andrei Malyavin.
“We are now seriously engaged in this [study of postcoid syndrome], and a commission has been created at the Ministry of Health, and we will hold a large round table with the participation of leading specialists in the [Russian Scientific Medical] Society of Physicians,” Malyavin said.
Earlier, on February 11, the chief freelance specialist for medical rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health, Professor Galina Ivanova said that over 70% of patients who have had a new coronavirus infection will need rehabilitation.
In an interview, Malyavin also expressed the opinion that the coronavirus epidemic in Russia could end closer to the middle of this year thanks to vaccination and the formation of population immunity.
However, according to Malyavin, it is not worth counting on the creation of an effective drug of direct antiviral action in the near future. “This is a very big task - the creation of direct antiviral drugs. This is ten years, maybe, if they strain, five years,”he added.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova in an interview with TASS said that the level of collective immunity to coronavirus in 60% of the country's population, necessary for the complete lifting of restrictions, can be formed in the country by August, if vaccination continues at the same pace as now.
