Some patients, after recovering from coronavirus, may experience multisystem inflammatory syndrome. The chief physician of the Moscow City Clinical Hospital 52, Maryana Lysenko, spoke about this.

In an interview with RT television, she noted that this symptom usually occurs in children, but now it is diagnosed in adults as well.

This is, so to speak, a complex of problems that are associated with the body's autoimmune aggression towards itself, with the defeat of various target organs. It can be kidneys, it can be a heart. There are a lot of myocarditis, which can subsequently lead to severe heart disease, - said the doctor.

She added that experts are now trying to find out how many patients with coronavirus may develop such an inflammatory syndrome. The search is underway for methods of treating the disease.

NEWS.ru previously reported that high levels of antibodies in the blood are not a panacea for coronavirus. This is not an indicator of protection against infection, as it must be complex. For comprehensive protection against coronavirus, a sufficient titer of antibodies and other elements of the immune system is required, says Tatyana Nepomnyashchikh, deputy head of the Vector Scientific Center, Candidate of Biological Sciences.
