The Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov has opened the Active Longevity club in Khimki for older residents, according to the press service of the Governor and the Moscow Region government. The club is located at the Arena Khimki stadium. Due to the pandemic, face-to-face classes in similar clubs in the region were held online, and then only in the open air. Since last week, they have been able to resume work in their usual format. “The clubs have opened, there was a serious request from the older generation, the residents were looking forward to being able to practice here again - to lead an active lifestyle, walk, communicate. Our task is not just to open clubs, but to make them interesting, cognitive, and emotional,”said the governor during a tea party with the participants of“Active Longevity”. Previously, there was no club in the district, the classes were held in the Ivushka day home for pensioners. Olga Georgievna Mayba, a participant in Active Longevity, said that there are many more opportunities in the new building. There is a library, health and psychological relief rooms, a music lounge, a gymnasium, a classroom. The highlight of the club is a cozy cinema room with a cafeteria. “We are dancing, and our favorite activity is singing. Now you don't have to go anywhere separately, we can do all this here. We are promised lectures, master classes, interesting events,”Olga Georgievna said. The club will also hold classes in yoga, breathing exercises, chess, creativity, computer literacy. Reception of specialists of housing and communal services, MFC, EIRTs was organized. You can get vaccinated against the coronavirus. “We have 56 clubs open, in 46 - you can get vaccinated against covid. Indoor classes are only allowed with antibodies or vaccinations. This is done solely to preserve the health of our elderly citizens,”said Minister of Social Development of the region Irina Fayevskaya. The Governor's Project "Active Longevity" was developed within the framework of the presidential national project "Demography" and has been implemented in the region since October 2019. Clubs are open in all municipalities.
