Deputy Director for Research of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Gorelov named the share of Russians who have developed immunity to coronavirus. This was reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta. He recalled that about 4.2 million people received a positive test result for coronavirus during the pandemic in the country. "Let's add conditionally 20-30 percent of those who suffered asymptomatic, did not go to doctors and did not get tested. And about 4 million more vaccinated," Gorelov said. So, according to him, about 8-9 million people have immune protection. However, he stressed that of the 146 million inhabitants of Russia, this is only 5.7% - 6%. The expert noted that when 60-70% of the population develops immunity, then we can talk about a slowdown in the spread of COVID-19. Earlier, Russia recorded the minimum monthly increase in COVID cases since September. In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 114.4 million cases have been registered, over 90 million people have recovered, and more than 2.5 million patients have died. More than 4.2 million people with COVID-19 have been identified in Russia. The Russian Federation was the first country in the world to register a vaccine against COVID-19. The drug was developed by NITsEM named after Gamaleya in cooperation with the Russian Direct Investment Fund. It was named "Sputnik V". On October 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the registration of the second vaccine against COVID-19, which was named "EpiVacCorona". It was developed by the Novosibirsk center "Vector".
