Rostov region, March 3, 2021. DON24. RU. What fears haunt people because of COVID-19, how to cope with anxiety and anxiety? Head of the Department of General and Clinical Psychology of Rostov State Medical University, Doctor of Psychological Sciences Zinaida Brizhak told about this in an interview with the newspaper "Molot". To help patients, their relatives and doctors Rostov-on-Don became the third Russian city (after Moscow and St. Petersburg), where a faculty of clinical psychology was opened on the basis of a medical university. The medical community says this decision is time-consuming. Severe patients need the help of a qualified psychologist who is well versed in the causes and course of various diseases. For example, those who have had an organ transplant, heart attack, stroke, or cancer patients. Psychological support is often needed for doctors and nurses. Today, in covid hospitals, medical staff work in completely new conditions, helping an unprecedented number of critically ill patients, while being 12 hours in suits, masks, without a telephone, in complete isolation from the outside world. “A special category is the relatives of patients in covid hospitals. They are deprived of the possibility of direct communication and assistance to those close to us in our usual sense. And the task of psychologists is to help both patients and relatives, and those doctors who sometimes do not see human gratitude for their colossal work. COVID-19 made us face the most real human tragedies. For example, families often get sick. Both husband and wife can get to the hospital. One can be saved, and the other is not. And how can a survivor cope with this loss? How to live on? Or another problem. How to keep our residents - anesthesiologists and resuscitators - in such a complex profession? They face death on a daily basis, working in difficult conditions. Professional doctors with vast experience of work with dignity cope with this psychological stress, but still, many of them need specialized help. This is what prompted the need for psychological preparation. Thanks to the coordinated work of doctors and vaccinations, the pandemic will soon end. With our collective efforts we will overcome this misfortune, but the consequences of the stress we have endured may remain. And the task of a psychologist is to help cope with this,”says Zinaida Brizhak. Instead of greeting: was sick - not sick? According to the observations of doctors, stress and consequences are observed both in those who have undergone covid and in those who did not get sick. “Many patients who come to us for treatment, for example, at the cardiology or neurological department, develop chronic fatigue, apathy, and depressive disorders after covid. Plus the general information oversaturation. Even those who have not had a new coronavirus infection are stressed. Have you noticed a new trend in communication? COVID-19 has become so tightly embedded in our lives that the first question we ask today instead of greeting our friends is: “I was sick - did I not? How many antibodies? " Stress can be caused by an unusual form of remote work, a lack of a clear understanding of the rules of life in new conditions, or the impossibility of planning the same vacation even for the near future,”says Zinaida Brizhak. - But a person gets used to everything … - This is not entirely true. Stress is not addictive, stress causes a decrease in immunity, neurotic disorders, which determines what we have already said. - In Japan, such a phenomenon as hikimori is widespread. Young people voluntarily isolate themselves from society. It is believed that in a pandemic, such recluses, especially young people, will appear in Russia. How high do you think this probability is? - I have big doubts that this phenomenon will be popular in Russia. Our culture is very different from that of Japan. We have different religions and mentality. It seems to me that the Russian person is more conciliar, collective; it is unlikely that the changes in social life that we have encountered can lead to an increase in the growth of hermits. But this is my personal opinion. - Many people are panicky afraid of a rise in temperature, can it rise on a nervous basis? - What an interesting question … What kind of nervous soil are we talking about? If it's just emotional excitement, then it's more likely no than yes. If there is a serious psychotraumatic situation associated with a surge of adrenaline and the production of cortisol, then a short-term rise can be, but a maximum of 37.2. At the same time, I note that, according to doctors, a small evening rise in body temperature is considered the norm. - That is, if in the evening the thermometer showed 37.1 ° C, is it not a fact that it is a covid? - Well, of course! Understand before vaccination We talk about the fact that some people are afraid of vaccination. I offer my own options for getting rid of the fear of vaccination - make an appointment with a doctor, take tests “There are medical recommendations that are well known, they must be strictly followed. As for getting rid of fear itself, let's get to grips with its nature. Are you afraid of the manipulation itself - the injection? Or are you afraid of the consequences of vaccination? If the first, then you need to use the methods of auto-training. Configuring yourself that the procedure is painless will help protect you and your loved ones from a serious and dangerous illness. If you are afraid of the consequences, then again you need to ask yourself the question: are you afraid because you are at risk for age, or are there serious chronic diseases, are there any contraindications to vaccination? If so, then the fears are valid. Therefore, you need to consult a doctor who can give you comprehensive answers to all questions. Then it will remove the fears,”the psychologists believe advises not to focus on negative information, of which there has been a lot lately, not to read dubious sources in social networks, the authors of which are often people even without medical education. If there is fear, you can use the methods of psychological self-regulation, the correct setting, which will help you make the only correct decision. Free Swim Scuba Currents - What complaints do people who work offsite for a long time have? If they apply at all … - A person is an interesting creature. Working in an office, we want to be at home. And once at home, we want to go back to the office. It is one thing when they took a temporary job at home, it is another thing when they are within four walls today, tomorrow and an indefinite amount of time. Working remotely, we are independently responsible for our work schedule, there is a feeling of freedom. But this is only at the beginning. In reality, we are lost because of this free schedule. For example, we go too enthusiastically into the problem to be solved, or vice versa, relatives and friends, pets do not give us the opportunity to concentrate. If we enthusiastically go into work, then it can replace our personal life and erase our personal space. If we cannot easily draw up a work schedule on our own, then we lose our importance as an employee. The question here is responsibility and priority of tasks. Both in the first and in the second case, there is not enough socialization and communication. And it is this factor that can lead to disappointment, lack of satisfaction, a feeling of happiness, and one's own relevance. Against the background of such psychological problems, our behavior changes in the direction of irritability, isolation, tearfulness or aggression, which, alas, can take out on loved ones. It is these behavioral disorders that our patients complain about. - They say that due to covid, cases of depression have become more frequent. - Let's define that there is a medical diagnosis of "depression", which is established by a psychiatrist. There is no need to be afraid of him, as depression can be successfully treated. But more often, speaking of covid, they do not mean depression, but post-traumatic stress disorder, which we talked about above. They are easily leveled, treated, it all depends on the depth of the condition and the person's understanding of the problem. If the degree of this disorder is not high, then sports, walking in the fresh air, a hobby, a good book, that is, a distraction from negativity, will allow you to restore your own strength on your own. If sleep disturbance is observed, an increased level of anxiety persists, then joint work of the patient and a clinical psychologist is necessary. The latter, using various psychotherapeutic techniques suitable for a specific person, in a short time will help a person to cope with experiences. The main thing is the attitude, desire and understanding of the need to solve the problem.
