BUDAPEST, November 27 - RIA Novosti, Elizaveta Isakova. To develop population immunity in Russians to COVID-19, it will be necessary to vaccinate those who have already had the virus, Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko told RIA Novosti.

"Population immunity is also achieved by vaccination, and is already formed after a previous illness. We see that even people who have had a coronavirus infection have cases of repeated illness. Therefore, forming population immunity, we must understand that people who have had a disease in the spring, those who have had the disease easily will also require vaccinations,”he said.

The minister gave the example of one of the employees of the Ministry of Health, who fell ill with COVID-19 in the spring.

"His immunity dropped to zero. We monitored the level of his immune response, cellular immunity. He vaccinated, after which his immune response has significantly increased and today is at the level of protection. Therefore, a vaccine will be required, significant volumes will be required, and then there will be clinical indications. will be determined by the doctors, "he said.

According to him, the level of immunity to the virus, including before vaccination, can be determined using about 90 test systems developed in Russia.
