The Russian virologist said that the effectiveness of the coronavirus vaccine can be checked using an antibody test. This was stated by a researcher at the Center for Fundamental and Translational Medicine Alexander Chepurnov, reports NTV.
So, the specialist clarified that the immunity that is formed in a person after vaccination can persist for different times. Nevertheless, there are isolated cases when the vaccine does not give the desired effect, and in order to check this, it is necessary to take an antibody test in any of the medical laboratories.
“We need to monitor antibodies, take tests about once every six months. In some, even after eight months, antibodies do not decrease, while in others they disappear after three months, "Chepurnov explained.
His words were supplemented by another expert - Professor of the Department of Virology at the Belozersky Institute of Moscow State University Alexei Agranovsky. He noted that Russian vaccines can be considered high quality, but the formation of antibodies in different people is individual. “You can take an antibody test three weeks after vaccination. If you were asymptomatic and vaccinated with COVID, it's okay,”he stressed.
In addition, virologists recalled that there is another type of immune response - a cellular one. But you can check it only with the help of complex laboratory tests.
In January, Mikhail Rozanov, a virologist and associate professor of the pediatric faculty of the Pirogov Russian Medical University, described the effect of the coronavirus vaccine. According to him, vaccination promotes the production of a high titer of antibodies, which makes the likelihood of infection extremely low. And if the infection enters the body, then with the vaccination it quickly passes.
