Gazprom Neft is creating a base of geochemical fingerprints for hydrocarbon deposits. The technology is unique and allows you to determine from which reservoir an inflow is coming into the well, which contains water, oil and gas. Whereas previously expensive research was used, now a new approach has emerged. It has already been tested in the fields of Yamal and Yugra. The authors of the project are specialists from the Gazprom Neft Science and Technology Center and scientists from the country's universities. The bottom line is that formation fluids differ in chemical composition, microorganisms and more. All this forms an individual geochemical "fingerprint" of deposits, which experts study. The method has already been tested at the fields of Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz and Gazpromneft-Khantos. It is estimated that these assets alone save more than 250 million rubles a year in research costs. Since sampling and chemical analysis does not require well shut-in.
