Virologist Alexander Butenko in an interview with Sputnik radio said that immunity against coronavirus is acquired both after illness and after vaccination.
The vaccinated have a higher level of antibodies than those who have recovered. However, this is not the only indicator of the presence of immunity. For example, the titer of antibodies may be low, after a while antibodies may disappear, but this does not mean that a person may get sick again.
According to the doctor, it is difficult to find an example when a donkey had an acute viral infection, like coronavirus, he would get sick with it again. Consequently, immunity after an illness must necessarily develop: "There is such an effect as immunological memory - a meeting with a similar pathogen leads to the rapid development of high levels of antibodies, a protective effect is created."
