Roman Kozlov, the chief freelance microbiologist of the Russian Ministry of Health, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said that sooner or later antibiotics will cease to work if used uncontrolled without a doctor's prescription. This is reported by TASS. According to him, taking antibiotics without medical advice can face a lot of problems. "As a result of the uncontrolled intake of antibiotics, sooner or later we will face the fact that they will cease to work, and we will have nothing to treat bronchitis, pneumonia, cystitis, sinusitis and other infections," the specialist said. This will lead to deaths from those diseases that a few years ago could have been cured by taking several pills, the microbiologist believes. Kozlov also reminded doctors that the prescription of antibiotics should be taken with care - not to prescribe them to patients with coronavirus and other viral infections without bacterial complications. Irrational prescription of such drugs can lead to the development of adverse reactions, unwanted drug interactions and even death.
