Due to the high interest in the donation of plasma with antibodies to coronavirus infection, three new donor reception centers are opening in the capital - on the basis of the second branch of the Gavrilov Blood Center and blood transfusion departments at the Eramishantsev City Clinical Hospital and the Vorokhobov City Clinical Hospital 67. This was stated by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development Anastasia Rakova.

“In October, we saw a rapid increase in activity among plasma donors with antibodies to coronavirus. We are grateful to Muscovites who help save the lives of patients in serious condition, and we do our best to make it convenient and easy for donors to donate plasma. That is why we decided to open three additional points - on the basis of the 67th hospital, the Eramishantsev hospital and the branch of the Gavrilov Blood Center on Begovaya - and thus increase the number of time intervals for registration for donation. Now the centers where you can donate plasma after recovering from the coronavirus cover even more areas - it will be more convenient for donors to get to them,”the vice mayor said.

Now the reception of plasma donors will be carried out at seven points:

1. Gavrilov Blood Center - Bakinskaya street, building 312. Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Situations - Bolshaya Sukharevskaya square, building 3, building 123. City Clinical Hospital 52 - Pekhotnaya street, building 3, building 1 4. Konchalovsky State Clinical Hospital - Zelenograd, Kashtanovaya Alley street, house 2, building 55. Gavrilov Blood Center - Polikarpov Street, Building 14, Building 26. Blood Service of the Eramishantsev City Clinical Hospital - Lenskaya Street, Building 15 7. Vorokhobov City Clinical Hospital 67 - Salyam Adil Street, Building 2/44 (opens November 19)

Recall that in October, the Clinical Committee approved a unified standard in the approach to the treatment of patients with COVID-19 in hospitals, according to which patients with moderate and severe forms of coronavirus can be prescribed transfusion of donor plasma. The decision is made by the attending physician when identifying the factors in the patient that require transfusion. Thanks to plasma transfusion, the likelihood of worsening the condition and transferring the patient to mechanical ventilation is almost halved, and the survival rate is increased by 19 percent.

To become a donor, you need to contact the hotline by phone +7 (495) 870-45-16. It works daily from 9 am to 7 pm. People from 18 to 55 years old who have recovered from COVID-19, weighing more than 50 kilograms, are invited to donate. After the first symptoms of coronavirus infection appear, 5 weeks should pass. Contraindications are the presence of chronic diseases, HIV, syphilis, viral hepatitis.

More detailed information is available on the website Here, a potential donor can fill out a questionnaire. The initial check will make it possible to determine whether a person has temporary or absolute contraindications to donation.

For the delivery of plasma with COVID-19 antibodies, the Mayor of Moscow has established a reward of 5 thousand rubles. Donors also receive compensation for food in the amount of 1212 rubles.
