MOSCOW, November 21 - RIA Novosti. Doctor and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov on the air of the TV channel "Russia 1" named products that can harm the liver.
"You will be surprised: 200 grams of vodka a week is already destructive for a man's liver. And 140 grams for a woman is already a direct liver poison," he said.
At the same time, according to Myasnikov, cirrhosis of the liver can be not only "drunk", but also "full".
"These are your sweet buns, these are your dumplings, cutlets, sausage and so on - everything leads to fatty liver infiltration and leads to non-alcoholic steatohepatosis," the doctor emphasized.
He recalled that about 1.2 million people die from hepatitis B and C every year.
Myasnikov also urged the audience to be vaccinated against hepatitis B. The doctor also stressed that hepatitis C can now be cured.
He warned Russians against overeating and added that liver failure causes a very long and painful death when patients suffer from heavy bleeding, vomit and sweat blood.
