In the fall, low-rise shoes can be dangerous to health, said the doctor, traumatologist-orthopedist, osteopath, candidate of medical sciences Konstantin Ternovoy in an interview with Sputnik radio.
He noted that in recent years, people have worn shoes that do not cover the ankles and short pants in cold weather. According to the specialist, this threatens hypothermia and inflammation of the Achilles tendon.
“You need to keep your feet in dry shoes, shoes should be in season, waterproof and not short. No fabric sneakers will protect your feet,”Ternovoy said.
The expert added that you can switch to autumn shoes when the daytime temperature is kept at 14 degrees Celsius.
In June, the traumatologist-orthopedist of the Pirogov Center, Mikhail Vikhtar, called the slates the most dangerous summer footwear. The doctor recommended wearing shoes with inner foot support and not neglecting orthopedic insoles. In addition, he pointed out the need to choose shoes with not too stiff soles.
