In winter, many factors have a negative impact on human immunity. To strengthen it on your own, you should pay special attention to nutrition, healthy sleep and physical activity, Maria Malysheva, a specialist in women's beauty, nutritionist, told Infox.ru.
The expert noted that even the strongest immunity can weaken in winter. “In winter, immunity weakens and the body is especially susceptible to colds and viral diseases,” she said. "The reason may be a seasonal outbreak of infections, lack of vitamins, poor physical activity, lack of sleep."
According to her, signs of a weakened immune system can be, for example, constant drowsiness, pallor and dryness of the skin, circles under the eyes. In addition, normally a person gets sick about four times a year, and if this happens more often, then this may also indicate problems with immunity, Malysheva emphasized.
The specialist said that in order to reduce the load on the body in winter, you should wear masks in public places, avoid crowds, wash your hands thoroughly and ventilate the apartment more often. Particular influence should be given to nutrition. In particular, vitamin C will help strengthen the immune system. You can also eat more beef, turkey, garlic and wheat germ, since they contain zinc, with which the body produces antibodies and white blood cells.
“You need to drink a lot of juices and green tea, it activates mental activity and helps prevent vascular diseases,” said Malysheva.
Physical activity will also help strengthen the immune system: morning exercises and afternoon walks in the fresh air.
“Healthy sleep is the key to good immunity. You need to adhere to the regime, get up and go to bed at a certain time, even on weekends,”the expert added.
