The State Duma figured out how to make all Russians use an antiseptic, wear masks and gloves during a pandemic. Deputy Yaroslav Nilov told Sputnik radio about this.
According to him, the financial side is important in this matter - people do not want to spend money on protective equipment. Such citizens need help and provide them free of charge with everything they need to prevent infection, Nilov said.
“Our proposal is to maximize the possibility of getting a mask and antiseptic free of charge. This can already be done when visiting shops, cafes, gyms, and so on. Wherever possible, masks should be distributed free of charge,”he said, noting that now masks can be purchased at retail for three rubles apiece.
Nilov added that it is necessary to strengthen social advertising. First of all, it should be aimed at calls to wash hands more often, use protective equipment; it is important to reach out to an older audience who often neglects doctors' recommendations. It is better to influence pensioners through television and specialists invited to the programs, to which older people listen, the deputy concluded.
Earlier, the director of the Institute of Medical Parasitology, Tropical and Vector-borne Diseases at Sechenov University, Alexander Lukashev, said that cloth gloves are just as effective in protecting against coronavirus as rubber gloves.
