People with allergic rhinitis should be vaccinated against coronavirus before flowering or after, says Sergey Voznesensky, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the RUDN University. RIA Novosti writes about it.
“The coronavirus vaccine should be done before flowering or after. The hay fever does not necessarily start in April, it can start at the end of March, some may have it in August. It all depends on what kind of allergen it is caused by. The very first thing starts with birch and other allergens - when the snow starts to melt,”he said.
According to the infectious disease specialist, the phenomenon of hay fever can occur throughout the spring and summer period. Voznesensky also clarified that a person with the onset of rhinitis cannot be vaccinated.
“Pollinosis is allergic rhinitis. An allergic condition is a temporary contraindication against any immuno-targeted therapy, so the vaccination can be done after the manifestations of hay fever have subsided,”he added.
In Russia, on January 18, mass vaccination of the population against coronavirus infection began. Citizens will be able to choose one of two vaccines registered in the country - "Sputnik V" or "EpiVacCorona". At the same time, on February 20, the third coronavirus vaccine, Kovivak, developed by the Chumakov Center, was registered in Russia.
