Volgograd residents who have been ill with coronavirus continue to actively donate blood for the production of anticoid plasma. In the region, 2,223 people have already shared their blood, who were able to defeat COVID-19 and are now helping other patients. The collected blood was enough to make over 2070 doses suitable for transfusion. This equates to about 578 liters of plasma from the coronavirus. She has already been admitted to infectious diseases hospitals to treat patients infected with the new virus, the press service of the regional administration said. One donor donates 450 ml of blood, from which 250 - 270 milliliters of the therapeutic dose of anticoid plasma are obtained. On average, it takes four days to manufacture, starting from collecting blood and ending with the issuance of serum. Note that after plasma transfusion, not a single case of deterioration of the patient's condition was recorded. On the contrary, in most cases, the well-being of patients improves against the background of general therapy. We add that in the Volgograd region the need for donors remains at a high level. Anyone who wishes to share their blood can contact the donor department of the regional blood center. You can consult on weekdays from 13.00 to 15.00 by phone (8442) 37-69-65.
