The scientific director of the laboratory for deep water purification, chief specialist of the NII VODGEO JSC, Alexander Smirnov, in an interview with Moscow 24, explained how it is possible to purify drinking water at home. Earlier, the Accounts Chamber listed the regions with the most polluted drinking water. The first place in the anti-rating was taken by the Sverdlovsk region: the region has the largest number of cases of high and extremely high levels of pollution in a decade. The list also includes the Novgorod, Vladimir, Arkhangelsk and Leningrad regions. In each of the regions, according to the Accounting Chamber, no ecological rehabilitation of water bodies has been carried out. "The water from the centralized water supply in the taps of most of the inhabitants of our country is safe for consumption in its raw form, unless there are any special exceptions, everything happens. And then each of us has our own views on life and taste sensations," Smirnov said. If the smell or taste of chlorine bothers you, then you can use special filters for cleaning, or just take water and let it stand, the expert explained. In turn, the therapist of the highest category Tatyana Romanenko, in an interview with Moscow 24, said that you can drink tap water if it does not cause any discomfort in the body. However, its preliminary cleansing should not be neglected. "Filters should be used, and they may differ: to protect from calcium salts, from salts of heavy metals, iron, rust. For each region in this case, its own characteristics. We can select filters based on the area where we are, based on the characteristics of the local water ", - explained the doctor. In addition, according to the doctor, children should not drink tap water, since their digestive system is still in the process of formation. "In this case, it is necessary to defend the water so that chlorine and other volatile impurities evaporate, then it will be useful and boil, then it will become completely safe," the expert emphasized. The same sequence Romanenko recommended to adhere to the elderly and those who have chronic diseases of the digestive system, in particular the intestines. But you should not rely on miraculous methods, for example, coins that purify water. It is best to use classic, proven methods, the doctor concluded. Previously, nutritionist Alexei Kovalkov dispelled myths about drinking water. The first of these was the misconception that for the body to function properly, it is necessary to drink two liters of water a day. Kovalkov said that such a reaction of the body as a feeling of thirst regulates the maintenance of fluid balance, forcing a person to consume exactly as much water as he needs. A second popular misconception is that liquid can satisfy hunger. "Water leaves the stomach very quickly, after a few minutes it will go into the intestines, there is no talk of satiety," Kovalkov said. The third common myth, according to the expert, is the belief about the benefits of drinking enough water before meals. Kovalkov noted that such drinking of water, on the contrary, can cause indigestion, since it "flushes" the necessary enzymes from an empty stomach. The nutritionist advised to drink water five minutes after the start of the meal.
