The body needs water to maintain balance in the body, noted nutritionist Alexei Kovalkov. At the same time, he added that the popular rules on the amount and time of drinking liquid have no basis and therefore are not synonymous with benefits.

First of all, Kovalkov dispelled the myth that you need to drink two liters of water every day. He stressed that there is no research that would confirm the need for such a volume of liquid, reports "Evening Moscow".

"A person drinks exactly as much water as he needs," said the nutritionist.

He also criticized the fact that water is worth drinking to satisfy hunger, writes VSE42.Ru. Kovalkov explained that it does not provide sufficient saturation, since it leaves the stomach into the intestines after a few minutes.

The third myth is that if you drink water before eating, you will eat less. The doctor said that in this case, the liquid "washes away" the enzymes necessary for digestion. Kovalkov advised drinking water a few minutes after starting a meal.

Earlier, "Profile" reported that nutritionists told how much water you need to drink every day for longevity. It was noted that it is the main chemical component of the body and makes up about 60% of the body weight.
