The renowned actress passed away in 2017 at the age of 61 after a long battle with cancer. Vera Glagoleva suffered from stomach cancer, and the doctors were unable to save her.
Members of the artist's family cherish the fond memory of her. In the documentary on Channel One, Unbroken Light, the star's widower, 57-year-old entrepreneur Kirill Shubsky, first told how Glagoleva bravely fought her illness.
According to the businessman, despite the difficult treatment, Vera Vitalievna continued to do her favorite work. This gave her strength and even had a positive effect on the general condition of the body.
“After filming the melodrama Two Women, we went to the clinic, and perhaps for the first time I saw that a miracle happens. She had many organs affected, but all of them, in fact, recovered. All indicators - direct and indirect - were normal. Is it the effect of the film or some internal reserves of the body? There are some elements of mysticism in this,”said Shubsky.
The youngest heiress of the actress, 27-year-old Anastasia Shubskaya, said that the star mother tried to take advantage of every moment to improve her well-being in order to return to her usual life.
“When she felt better, she called and said in a cheerful voice:“It's me, the Phoenix bird!” In the family we called my mother that - the Phoenix bird,”said the daughter of the famous actress.
Relatives of Vera Vitalievna hoped to the last that she would be able to defeat the disease. Shubsky admitted that together they were very happy.
“For a long time, we lived happily and carefree. Not only did I feel it, but she herself said so too. I will not say that Vera did not understand the whole situation, it was just the right attitude. Few people, except relatives, knew about the severity of her illness,”the businessman added.
