Volunteers in Chelyabinsk, Russia, rescued the fattest Labrador in the city - a dog named Hammer. The previous owners wanted to put him to sleep due to obesity, so the dog was taken away and assigned regular walks for weight loss. The Baza edition writes about it.
The previous owners of the Hammer fed him up to 90 kilograms, and then realized that they would not be able to keep the animal in the future. Then the Labrador was taken to the veterinary clinic to euthanize.
The doctors took pity on the dog and advised him to give it to zoological volunteers. Volunteers took up Hammer: they put him on a diet and began to give him physical activity to lose weight - at the time when he was handed over to the new owners, the Labrador was practically unable to walk due to excess weight.
“And this is how Hammer walks,” one of the volunteers showed the walk with her ward. The video shows that the dog is lying in the snow and can hardly move. However, exercise is bearing fruit: doctors assume that by summer the dog will be able to run.
