TASS, November 3. The personal doctor of the former midfielder and coach of the Argentine national football team Diego Maradona Leopoldo Luque spoke about his state of health after hospitalization. Luke's commentary is quoted by TNT Sports.
The doctor said that Maradona's hospitalization was not urgent. "Being in the clinic helps him. He is here because he wanted to come himself. His health was not in danger, so we did not come urgently," Luke said.
"He was hospitalized for three days to restore the body's water balance, - said the specialist. - He wants to lead his team on Sunday. Maradona is fine, if he wants to, he can leave the hospital, he will not be transferred anywhere."
Luque also denied rumors that Maradona's hospitalization was associated with a return to drug use. "I categorically deny a relapse of any symptoms of addiction, it may be anemia. I do not exclude the possibility that on Sunday he will still be at the match. It was a difficult week for him emotionally, he was under a lot of pressure," added doctor.
On October 30, Maradona turned 60 years old. He is currently the head coach of the Argentine team Gimnasia and Esgrima. Last week, he was isolated due to contact with an infected coronavirus.
