“I got into figure skating because I was often sick. Yes, I was born weak, and the doctor advised me to go to sports in order to improve my health. These were the 80s. My mother always led an active lifestyle, went skiing. And she was very fond of figure skating. Therefore, it was decided to send me there. For a year I skated at Lokomotiv. But then I got sick, and because of this, I was not given the role of either a Christmas tree or a snowflake. In general, I was very angry and said that I would not go there anymore. I moved to Sokolniki. It was there that my career began. But not everything went so smoothly. My mom says that I didn’t enjoy regular training. Yes, and it was cold - what is there to be happy about? But my mother understood that I needed it, so I had to force it. Through what only she did not have to go … "- wrote Slutskaya.
