Kate Somerville, a leading face care specialist and founder of her own cosmetics brand, said that this popular procedure should only be used once a day.
According to the British online portal The Sun, we usually do not attach much importance to the saying "the best is the enemy of the good", especially when it comes to makeup, eating chocolate and watching TV shows. Recently, this also applies to skin care. However, it turned out that the frequent use of cosmetics to cleanse the epidermis can do more harm than good.
Most often, cosmetologists assure that it is worth washing at least once a day, and preferably two - in the morning and in the evening to remove excess sebum, makeup and street dirt, which inevitably accumulates even in isolation. Recently, however, some beauty experts have begun to argue that morning washing is completely unnecessary, since it is performed too early after the previous evening ritual. So, Kate Somerville said: "If your skin is oily or prone to acne, choose a product with salicylic acid and clean it only once a day so as not to dry out or irritate it." And the owners of other types of epidermis, according to the expert, do not need to wash their face in the morning, since, in fact, there is nothing to wash off - there is no makeup and SPF, and the natural oils produced by the body are useful and provide a protective barrier against external factors during the day.
Beauty experts say that you can easily determine if you are overdoing it in your pursuit of cleanliness, for this it is enough to look at the condition of your own face: if the skin is tight and dry, there are signs of hypersensitivity, red spots and peeling, this is a reason to think about correction leaving. In turn, esthetician David Jack said that the exfoliation procedure should be carried out no more than 2-3 times a week, this will brighten the skin and help the moisturizer, serum and SPF to be absorbed better. He said: "If you are using a scrub or exfoliation, do it before cleansing - this way you can rinse off the particles of the product and achieve the perfect result."
